Question about application file updates

I have a question about the files. If I upgrade from the Free Edition to the Personal Edition, how do I replace the application files while keeping my personal data like queries, database credentials and dashboards? The same question applies to new releases, if there is a new release, how do I update the application files while keeping all the settings? I tried looking in your documentation for the answer, but I couldn't find it, so I thought I would leave a message to the forum.

Hi Jeroen,

When you upgrade from a FREE version to a commercial edition, you need to take care of the following:

1. Take a backup copy of your existing FREE version in a separate folder.
2. Unzip the commercial version and replace all the existing files.
3. Copy and replace the “store” folder from the backup copy.
4. Copy and replace data.xml and layout.xml from the backup copy.

The same steps apply when you upgrade to a new version.
